Network Engineering
We’re expert network engineers with many years of experience in different environments. We provide consultancy and implementation of core upgrades, network migrations and troubleshooting expertise.
We’re vendor independent with deep multi-vendor experience. Our team members can also work on longer term projects as embedded network engineers, even covering Head of Networks or Technical Director roles. We have a range of technical skills including device configuration and management, verification, troubleshooting, incident response, as well as “soft skills” such as team building, project management, and strategic planning.
Incident and problem management
We’re used to trouble-shooting and fixing problems, and whether it’s critical incident diagnosis or bottleneck investigation, our networking ninjas will do the job. We configure devices accurately and quickly so that we can keep your network operating efficiently and smoothly.
In-depth fault analysis and root cause investigation of issues is a particular strength of our team — we take deep dives into the technology and are skilled at debugging at a low level. We publish many of our investigations and solutions to disseminate knowledge within the networking community.
Network Migration
Network migration is a fundamental skill and we’ll work with you to understand your business needs. We can advise on network virtualisation to reduce expenditure on vendor equipment, power, cabling and space. We’ll then plan a safe migration strategy which will include:
risk analysis
mitigation planning
built-in roll-back points
contingency planning
thorough documentation
Our aim is to ensure that service disruption is minimised and that your new network configuration is efficient, reliable and expandable.
Core Upgrades
A key aspect of core network upgrades is planning. We’ll work with to understand the drivers for the upgrade and take account of elements such as:
device performance
reliability and scalability
network capacity
redundancy and automation
cost
We’ll advise on NFV, power consumption and space efficiency to ensure that operational costs are controlled. Once the core of the plan is in place we’ll undertake contingency planning, test planning and agree timelines to ensure that the upgrade has minimal impact on your network operation.
Good Governance
Changes to network configuration should be managed properly to ensure good governance. We work with Change Management Boards and change control leads to ensure that change is managed safely and securely, and is documented properly.
We also go further when required — we’ve helped clients through compliance and governance processes, security accreditation and have planned and facilitated disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
